Hi,I am Diwashish Biswas (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 70 year old female with heart disease and COPD, and a former smoker. I finished my last dose of Bactrim last night for treatment of a UTI. Most all antibiotics restricts my breathing. Along with shortness of breath, I also have digestive tract upset, nausea, fatigue and burning eyes. My question is, how long can I expect these side effects to continue? Thank You, Janice
Half-life if this drug is 2-6 days so it may take time to 2-10 days to recover from the side effects. You may use ondansetron for nausea and vomiting, antihistamine or bronchodilator for breathing difficulty.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
