How Long Does A Fistulomy Wound Take To Get Cured?

Hi. I had a fistulomy performed two months ago. My doc says that it is healing fine with a few millimeters to go. I still feel sore in the area and have some discomfort during and after good bums. I have minor discharge still. This is a vast improvement from 2 months ago. Is this normal and how long does it take to completely heal and move on with life.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Fistula can heal after couple of weeks of surgery and this is the maximum period, but it is being stated here that it's been couple of months after surgery, so it ought to be healed. If you experience the discharge, then it might not be repaired properly, such case may need second opinion, it does not seems to be normal one.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
