How Long Does A Meniscus Injury Take To Heal?

I injured my left knee from over exercising and think I have injured my meniscus. It has been tore before but has healed. It is taking a long time to heal. I wear a support and ICE each night but feel a burning sensation on the outer side of knee occasionally.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It will take around six to eight weeks for complete recovery. In severe cases surgical correction in the form of arthroscopic repair may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family physician
