How Long Does A Smashed Finger Take To Heal?

Hi, last Friday I got 3 of my fingers closed in a car door. The swelling has gone down but they are still bruised. My only issue now is my ring finger, which I have been unable to bend. It has been completely numb and tingling since I smashed it. It’s really numb at the middle of my finger all the way up to my fingertip. I’m not sure if it could maybe be a torn or pulled tendon? It’s just been a few days now and it is still numb and unable to bend, but it isn’t swollen so I’m not sure. Any possible information for me??

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It could be a contusion only.
Fracture is unlikely.
As of now you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.
You can apply icepacks for faster recovery.
If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedic and plan for an x-ray to look for a fracture.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
