How Long Does Bleeding Last After Taking BC Pills?

hi I missed one of my BC pills last Saturday and I took it as soon as i remembered which was on Sunday morning and i took the normal one that night as normal so i took 2 in one day. that Sunday afternoon i started bleeding. and i know i'm on my period. i already had my period once this month so this will be 2nd time. I was wondering how long this period will last because I've been bleeding heavily since Sunday. going through a box of super tampons in almost less than 2 days .... HELP!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is breakthrough bleeding and it is quite common while taking both control pills. Nothing much to worry and the bleeding will settle by it own.
If the bleeding is profuse, you can take Tranexamic acid for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
