How Long Does Bleeding Persist After Medical Abortion?
I had an abortion last month on the 4/02/2015 I had a medical one the pill one cos l was 6weeks and 4 days pregnant.my question is that am still bleeding up to know but it s not heaving bleeding .it is scant amount but two weeks ago on two occasionally Fridays l had a heavy flow bleedingfor few minutes but after few hours the heavy flow went away is this normal cos am really worried
I share your concerns. Some irregularities in bleeding is common observation after abortion specially if done by hormone tablets. . Since you don't have massive bleeding, incomplete abortion should not be the case. However since Incomplete abortion (some components remained inside uterus) is a reason behind bleeding, we need to first rule out that. Get an ultrasound scan of uterus. If it comes normal and bleeding is scanty , no need to worry. It will regularise in few months.
However if you get massive bleeding, foul smelling, or see clots please visit a gynaecologist.
I hope my reply will benefit you. Take care of hygiene. Please write to hcm or me for follow up question. I wish you good health. Thanks
