How Long Does Gastritis Take To Get Cured?

Hi I'm 27 and I was diagnosed with gastritis and I'm wondering how long does it last... I was gotten better a couple days ago but I messed up and took 2 vitamin C and and ate a salad with balsamic vinegarette. And it flares back up I didn't know that would happen. Because I have never had this before. Please help

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I really appreciate your concern, underlying cause of the disease is matters like if it is due to viral infection then it may take few days and in case of bacteria it may take a week or more if this is due to acid peptic disease then it may take some days depends upon the acid secretion or the severity of disease, in your case it seems to be gastritis due to more acid secretion so with the proper medicine it may takes couple of weeks (PPI ) proton pump inhibitor is the best drug for this like Omeprazole, once on day.
