How Long Does It Take 50,000 IU Of Vitamin D To Leave The System?

I took prescribed 50,000 per week of V-D to resolve a deficiency and after 5 weeks developed diarreha and stopped taking this at week 8 (2 weeks ago) and am still having diarreha. I am highly sensitive to many prescriptive drugs and I believe this is having a strong adverse effect on me. How long does it take for this ingestion over this course of time to leave my system?

Hello,

If the diarrhoea started after 5 weeks, it is unlikely to be due to Vitamin D. Diarrhoea is not a usual side effect and if it were to occur it would also occur earlier than 5 weeks. The fact that it persists 2 weeks after stopping the medication also may point to another cause of diarrhoea. The tablet will not stay in your gut more than 3 days and the vitamin D being a fat soluble vitamin will remain in the body tissues for several months.
I think you should see a doctor and have it investigated.
I am available if you have more queries.
