How Long Does It Take For The Valium Tablets To Effect Since Am Having Severe Anxiety Regarding Needles And Will Be Having A Heart Cath?
I will be having a heart cath, and my cardiologist has prescribed me to take 2 - 5 mg valium tablets as I have severe anxiety regarding needles (IVs). How long does it take for the valium to take effect? I weigh 125 pounds, 5'2" tall. Don't want to take it too early & have it wear off before the put in the IV.

I suggest you take 5mg Valium one hour before the procedure. This should relax you enough.
