Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Generally, the lower limb bones in an Adult takes roughly 10-12 weeks to heal with good bony union between the fractured ends. As you are aged 82 years, the bone healing potential will be a bit slow and may take a few more weeks.

Also, it is recommended to take adequate calcium supplemention to hasten the bony union.

Serial xrays are to be taken (once in 4 weeks) to assess the progression of bony union and till the time of complete union, you have to use a supporting device to walk.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
