How Long Does Knee Injury Take To Heal?

Twisted my right knee a couple weeks ago. Had it checked out and no fracture detected, but could not determine if some kind of tear or strain. I wear a knee support sometimes and it helps. The next day it feels better. But then I leave it off for a day or two, it feels worse. How long does it take to heal? Also, my right foot is often freezing cold, like I can t warm it up. What does this mean?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
Since the bony injuries have been ruled out, a soft tissue injury or ligament injury is likely. You need to avoid massaging the area and take a mild pain killer for relief. Do a cold compress on the area of injury.
The pain and swelling might take over a week to subside. In case there is an acute pain and a sudden increase in swelling then consult your physician for a direct examination to rule out any infection in the area.

I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
