How Long Does Swelling On Feet Take To Disappear After Stopping Amlong?

Age 69 Female. Vegetarian. BP 180/90 --160/80. Was taking Lorvas and Calaptin for BP for about 10 years. Sodium level dropped to 116 about six months back. This was attributed to Lorvas. I was put on Amlong (amlodipine) 10 mg per day plus Metpure XL (metoprolol) plus Arkamin (clonidine). Am having swollen feet (mild). I have been asked to stop Amlong (amiodipine) and continue the other two. This is in the last 2 days only. Still having swollen feet. Question: How long should I wait to see if swollen feet problem disappears because of discontinuing Amlong? (One week? Two weeks?) There should be some medicines to control hypertension and at the same time which does not result in sodium level drop and also does not result in swollen feet. Is there some way of finding out this group of medicines and the correct dosage.

I've read your Query and understanding your concern.

I would like to tell you if the swelling is mild then it will take a week to go off and you will feel normal. And if the sweeping is moderate then it can take up to 2 weeks to back to normal.

Meds you are taking now Metoprolol and Arkamin will control your blood pressure and will not cause you ankle swelling . So, you can continue with the prescribed drugs without a doubt.
