How Long Is Hospitalization Required For An Overdose Of Acetaminophen?

If someone had an overdose of Acetaminophen from Tylenol and was rushed to the ER and saved, but they ended up having some liver damage (not severe), would they stay in the hospital in an inpatient ward for recovery, such as where cancer patients stay, and how long would they be held? Also, where exactly would they be held? In ICU, or a basic inpatient recovery ward?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Acetaminophen overdose can cause fatal liver damage and it will happen after a few days.

So he has to be monitored in a hospital preferably in an ICU.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
