How Long It Takes To Cure Numbness Due To A Fracture In The Chin?

I was in a bicycle accident 1 week ago and landed on my chin and face. My mandible is fractured and I am experiencing numbness in my lip and chin in the area of the fracture. My oral surgeon said this is common and will go away, I am wondering how long it typically takes?

Hello,

Yes, this is a common feature and it will take 10-15 days maximum for it to go if the injury is not that bad. Having a dental checkup is advised if any nerve impingement is happened due to the chin injury.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
