How Long Should Carvedilol And Lisinopril Be Taken For Viral Myocarditis?

I was diagnosed with viral myocarditis in november 2016. It was detected as Cox infection using ARUP test. My Lvef was around 35. I was put on 50 mg carvedilol, 40 mg lisonipril, low dose aspirin per day along with low salt diet. In August 2017 my LVEF went back to normal range. My energies came back to highly normal. But my doctor asked me to continue these pills. I am on these pills until now which is past one year. I would like to know normally how long it is required to take these pills? I am concerned about the side effects of these pills?

Hello,

It is depends upon the symptoms and left ventricular dysfunction. If you're cardia functioning is normal then you may slowly tapered off this drug under your doctor guidence.

If you're cardia functioning is deteriorating during tampered off then you may have to continue life long.

So please consult your Cardiologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
