How Long Should I Take Epilim And Orlanzapine To Feel Better?

Hi, I am 42 and have suffered depression since my teens. I have had two manic episodes after coming off citalopram. After the last episode I was diagnosed with bi polar. My Psychiatrist has put me on 1500mg of epilim and 5mg of orlanzapine. I ave been taking this medication for about 8 weeks now and have quickly slid into depression. How long will it take for me to feel like myself again, I have no energy, sleep a lot and just don t see any future or feel any happiness or joy. How long should I give myself on this medication?

These are not anti-depressants. They damp down mania. Bipolar has to have mood changes. Generally changes in mood require changes in medication, and with the depressive phase addition of an anti-depressant USUALLY IN ADDITION TO MEDS TO DAMP DOWN MANIA is often given. Cannot say in your particular case and would be an indication for someone to chat with their own doctor.
