How Long Will I Have To Take 'flotral' Tablet For BPH?

My doctor has diagnosed me with BPH earlier they prescribed table thamdura for 6 months and later tablet flotral 10mg for another 5 months.Later they advised me to take fotral 10mg on alternate days. But when I started taking it on alternate days I started experiencing and as per his advise now I started taking it daily. In this connection kindly inform me how long I have to take this tablet and what are the side effects of long term use. Whether taking this tablet is better and surgical interference is better for BPH. After starting this tablet I have stopped taking BP tablet as my BP is normal now. The PVR now is very less as informed by the doctor. Kindly guide me in detail.
