How Long Will It Take To Get The Normal Oxygen Level With Cold And COPD?

My pulmonary doctor ordered a pulse oxygenation during sleep after being sick with a cold for two weeks and also having COPD. The results showed that my oxygen level was at 60% for 4 1/2 hours during the night. My concern is how long my oxyen level has been low and if there could be any damage to my heart or other organs.

In normal healthy individual also night time oxygen saturation tends to fall by 90-95%. In COPD patient due to the disease it self normal baseline saturation remains at around 90%. And in night it is still going low to 85%. But 60% is too low for humans. It will harm all your organs specially heart brain and kidneys. In my opinion you should first undergo sleep study and start CPAP in night after titration.
