How Many Doses Of Anti Rabies Vaccination Should Be Taken Post Dog Bite?

Hi sir, This is Girish dog had biten me on 08/05/2016. I took two doses of injection (Rabipur) on 08/05/2016 & 11/05/2016 .. Third planning to take on 18/05/2016 .....is it necessary to take another two doses (Total five ) or not please advice me ... what are the foods not allowed to take In Veg & Non veg for how many days .

Hi,

If you are not vaccinated previously then you have to take four doses of Injection Rabipur on days 0, 3, 7, 14. If you are previously vaccinated then you need to take only two doses on days 0 and 3. If the dog is available and found to be healthy even after 10 days then there is no need to take the last (fifth) dose of Rabipur.

If the dog cannot be located, then you will have to take the fifth dose of Rabipur as well. There are no dietary restrictions during your vaccination schedule following a dog bite and you can eat vegan and or non-vegan diet as you wish.
