How Many Times In A Day Can Paracetamol Be Given To A Child To Manage Fever?

Hi my son aged 12 years and weight 35 kg has been prescribed wikorly tablets 3 times a day and also crocin 500 advance 1 tablet 6 hrly until fever persists. Doctor has said it seems like beginning of viral. My concern is how frequently can i repeat crocin as It contains paracetamol so does wikorly contain 500 mg paracetamol. My kid has tendency of fever shooting up to 103+ and doc said crocin can be repeated 4 hrly incase fever is too high. But in that case won t it be too much of paracetamol for a kid aged 12?

Hi,

Paracetamol can be given four to six times a day depending on the response. The dose is ten to fifteen grams per kg body weight.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
