Hello,
Thank you for your query. I understand your concerns.
Multiple
joint pains are called Polyarthropathy. It could be due to several reasons.
1) Rheumatoid arthritis: There is inflammation of the joints. Mainly small joints of hands/legs are affected.
2) Sero negative arthritis: This is a non-rheumatoid arthritis. Asymmetrical large joints are usually affected.
3) Fibromyalgia: There are multiple tender points in the muscles all over the body. There is joint pain too.
4) Vitamin D deficiency: Can cause joint pains in addition to
muscle pain.
5)
Osteoarthritis may affect more than one joint too.
The
shoulder pain could be due to the injury, and there could be one of the above reasons too.
May I advise you to see a
Rheumatologist for your symptoms? He would asses you completely and also do some blood tests on you and also X-rays. Based on the condition that is causing the symptoms, he would give the appropriate treatment.
Regarding the shoulder pain, you could continue with the
physiotherapy. A warm compress can help.
Mild anti-inflammatory medication like Naproxen 250-500 mg twice a day or Ibuprofen 200-400 mg 2-3 times/day is helpful (i hope you are not allergic to these medicines and do not have any contraindications like kidney problems or gastric problems). Take these medicines with food, it can cause gastritis symptoms if taken on an empty stomach.
If you dont want to take oral anti-inflammatory tablet, you could use
Diclofenac gel 1% or Ibuprofen gel 5-10% 2-3 times/day.
I hope this answer has been helpful to you.
