How Safe Is Alcohol Consumption While Taking Xanax?

I am not looking for the typical in a perfect world answer or it would be best if you answer, rather, the straight answer of which my question is this: if I took 1 mg of Xanax (of which it is taken maybe 1x every 3 months for situational anxiety such as flying in an airplane, etc.), how many hours thereafter would it be possible (i.e. not talking 100% safe as in it is all out of my body as I realize the 1/2 life is 10 to 12 hours) to drink alcohol in a social setting without a SIGNIFICANT risk of CNS depression to the extent that there is a REAL and DISTINCT possibility that I would stop breathing in my sleep (NOTE: I will not have any Xanax with me while drinking and the people around me would be apprised and watchful of my actions so as to prevent any amnesia / blackout issues such as taking more pills or extreme binge drinking). In other words, if I take my 1 mg in the morning in Chicago and land in Hawaii 8 hours later can I have a beer or two on the beach without a significant chance of dying in my sleep? Thanks in advance!
