My baby boy is 3 months old. he is suffering from severe stomach pain. it appears he has gas, cause his face becomes red and it appears he stresses a lot when passing gas. The piedetrician has recommended 4 drops of colimex. While it gives her relief, I want to know how safe is it.

Hi,

Colimex Oral Drops contains both dicyclomine and simethicone which is used to treat abdominal pain. This medicine works effectively to reduce abdominal pain, bloating, discomfort and cramps by relaxing the muscles of the stomach and gut. It also helps in easy passage of gas. Colimex Oral Drops effectively relieves sudden muscle spasms or contractions in the stomach and intestines, thereby relaxing the muscles and improving movement of foods. It also blocks chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain sensation.

Colimex Oral Drops should be given in a dose and duration as advised by your doctor. The dose your baby is given will depend on your baby's condition and how your baby responds to the medicine. Your baby should keep taking this medication for as long as the doctor recommends. It is a safe medication for your baby if it is given as directed by the doctor. Don't stop giving this medication to your baby without consulting the prescribing doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
