How Safe Is Taking 70/30 Ration Of Insulin For Type 1 Diabetes?
Hi I m about to start taking 70/30 insulin, but I m not sure how much I should take? and how many times daily? I have took this insulin before in the past (about 6 yrs. ago). I weight about 143 lbs. 5 4 height, 26 years old, and had diabetes for 16 years now. I am very active at work, but not so much at home. Can you PLEASE help with my doses? Thanks, Laura (Type 1 Diabetes)
Hello welcome to HCM. I have read your question and understand your concerns. Insulin mixtard (30.70) means only 30% of the insulin is short acting, remaining is long acting. So there are low chances of low blood sugar and better long lasting control of sugar.
So. It's very safe if used in right dosage don't worry. You need to do Fasting and post meals blood sugar levels, so that your doctor can adjust insulin dosage according to that. Sorry, we cannot tell online which dose you should take. Only we can tell whether you are taking right dosage or not.
Thank you. Have a nice day.
