How Safe Is Taking Omwprazole For Heartburn?

Feels like I have been punched in stomach I have gerd, but my heartburn is being controlled by omeprazole. It is very unconmfortable I feel winded seems like it is inflamed all throughout my esophagus and stomach. So much pressure slightest touch makes it feel worse.
