How Safe Is To Give P-125 Drops 2.5ML To A Baby?

Hello Dr. My son is 8 months old now and he is suffering from fever ranging 100 to 102 F, our Pediatrician has prescribed him P-125 drops 2.5 ML (3times per day). Is it OK to give these drops considering he is only seven months old? Please advice me.

Hi & Welcome.

For the treatment of fever in children the usual recommended dose of Paracetamol is 15 mg/kg/dose to be given every 4-6th hourly that too only if fever is more than 100 F.

Based on the recommended dose given above, kindly check the body weight of your son and administer the drops as suggested above.

Along with the medication he should be given cold sponging, enough oral fluids and to rule out infection he should be examined by a pediatrician.

Hope this will help.
