How Safe Is To Give Enterogermina Solution/zinc Dry Powder To A Baby?

Hello Doctor.. a I do have a daughter of 7 months old.one day before she had a loose stool 3-4 times and today it was reduced to 2 times and the stool is slimy.For the past two weeks she passes faeces only once in three days or so. Doctor has suggested to take enterogermina soln. and zinc dry powder.Is it safe to take this?

It is safe to give Enterogermina (a probiotic) and zinc in a baby who is suffering from loose stools.
zinc supplementation is required in every baby who has diarrheal infection.
Probiotic like enterogermina may help a baby, to slightly shorten the duration of loose stools.
Passing feces every 3rd day can be considered of not much significance as long as the stools are normal looking and the baby deoes not strain a lot, to pass the stools.
