How Should An Enlarged Lymph Node In The Groin Be Treated?

My mother has non hodgkins lymphoma. She is recently under a doctor's care (oncologist) and is on chemo. She recenly has had a lymphnoid in her groin area that has enlarged. Can a lymphnoid rupture? I realize that she will most likely have to have radiation, but can a doctor go in and drain a lymphnoid with a needle? I have never heard of this being done or would that be considered a biopsy?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if this is the lymph node swelling with abscess formation then it need to be drained and if this is just swelling with no pus contain or infection then it is nothing to worry hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
