How Should Hiatus Hernia, Chest Pressure And Pain, Back Pain Be Treated?

I am a 23 year old female diagnosed with a hiatus hernia and take 30mg lansoprazole daily. I have been experiencing chest pressure and sharp pain for months and recently had a cardiac work up which came back normal. The pressure in my chest has spread to under my left rib and down my left side. This past week the dull achy pain has spread to lower back on both sides. I have experienced cold chills on and off but otherwise feel well, except from this constant ache in my sides and back.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Provided the workup done for precipitating factors of a hiatus hernia as obesity, high cholesterol and so forth.

One has to undergo lifestyle modifications, control of all essential parameters as per the scopy and other supportive facts.

If later the condition persists, the size of the hernia defect is considerable hampering the quality of life, one may discuss the requirement of the surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
