How Should Knee Pain With Swelling Be Treated?

My daughter fell at the skating rink and she hurt her knee. she had put a little pressure on it to limp out. and the inside is a little swelled up a little on the inside of her knee. she says it hurts to straighten it out. should I take her to emergency room or can they really do anything for her

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that your daughter got soft tissue injury knee. I think she also has some hematoma collection inside knee. Treatment of it is rest ,icing and analgesics (diclofenac ). Vitamin B-complex and Vitamin C supplementation can used to promote healing. However you can get her x ray and MRI of knee done to exclude fracture and ligament injuries. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.
