How Should Occasional Hematuria Be Treated?

I noticed a small amount of blood when i first urinated this morning. I take 500 mg of Metformin 2x a day with a meal. I have been on the Metformin for several years. The pharmacy change the brand of Metformin it sells to another distributor. Could the change in the Metformin have anything to do with the blood? Also, the blood is small and only occurs occassionally.

Hello,

* Change of metformin is not responsible for the urination with blood.
* There can be issues with hydration, urinary infection, calculus in the urinary system or else which can lead to blood in the urine.
* My guidelines at present
- drink more liquids
- control of blood sugar
- avoid sex if active
- follow up after 3 days about the progress of the issue and further guidelines.
