hi my name is keyna and i have learned about hiv/aids in my school over and over and have just learned recently that my friend has it and we share drinks and food, but she has diabetes and she pokes herself a lot and she bleeds sometimes and she swings her arm around and blood seems to go places and she touches me as a joke sometimes and she told me there is no way for her hiv to get in me unless we have sex because she was born with it and thats what a doctor said. im freaking out until i get an answer.

Hi
HIV is not spread through sharing food and other participating with hiv patients in other social activities
But not only sexual contact but also contact with their blood or genital secretioms with a breach in recipient's skin will cause hiv transmission.
Of course the chance depend on hiv patients infectious status like viral load, CD4 counts, treatment status etc.

Thank you
