Hi
History of an unprotected sexual contact is a strong indication for HIV
Median time for appearance of antibody in blood that can b detected by ELISA is 8 weeks after exposure ( 3-12 weeks)
But investigation like p24 assay can detect HIV as early as after 2 weeks
If your first test was performed very early, get a repeat appropriate test done
If it is negative, repeat after 3 months
If still negative, HIV is excluded as per protocols.
After the introduction of highly active anti retroviral treatment, HIV is no longer a fatal disease, but a chronic disease.
Remember, prevention is better than cure
Avoid high risk behaviour in future
Best if luck

Thank you
