How To Confirm A Urinary Tract Infection?

Today I woke up with a urinary tract infection, ie burning urinating and needing to urinate frequently. I took a dose of Phenazopyridine (Uristat) mid day and one now, and I have no more symptoms. How do I know if I still have it? Now I feel fine! Thanks, carolyn

Urologist 's  Response
Hello Carolyn and welcome to HCM.
To confirm if you have urinary infection, you'll need to get your urine routine and culture tested.Your symptoms are very similiar to that seen in urinary infection. Phenazopyridine will relieve the burning sensation you have, but not cure an infection.
