How To Confirm Colon Damage?

Hello, I have a really embarrassing question - I self induce my rectum when I use the bathroom and recently I can't stop - once my body begins to release waste it doesn't stop and then it sort of hurts :/ I'm really really petrified - I'm not going to do it anymore, but I'm concerned is my colon permanently damaged?? I'm 19.
