How To Confirm If My Miscarriage Is Complete?

I think I may have had a miscarriage .It would only have been 7-8 weeks along.Do I still need to go somewhere to get cleaned out or should I be alright since it wasn t too far along? I also have an iud, will that be removed and would I be able to get it reinserted?

Hello,

In the current scenario, you should see a specialist at once for two reasons-- 1. The IUD needs to be removed while the required investigation is on for the pregnancy status.

2. Reinsertion is to be done with a fresh IUD after clarifying the pregnancy status and if needed a check curettage is done after a trans-vaginal sonogram to find evidence of any retained products.

If you think you may have aborted, this needs clinical confirmation before planning further management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shanti Vennam
