How To Confirm The Presence Of ADHD?

Hi, my name is Rasha Im 28 year old I am a doctor I have problems with attention which begins after I finished the high school and joined the university , since that time I have these symptoms :delaying or avoiding starting things that require vigilant mental effort Difficulty sustaining concentration on conversations or briefly losing attention on someone speaking Hesitative responses, doubt, and delayed execution due to inattention remembering information Difficulty finding misplaced tools Easily distracted miss details, forget things Become bored with a task after only a few minutes, unless doing something enjoyable Have trouble completing or turning in homework assignments, often losing things Daydream, easily confused, and move slowly Have difficulty processing information as quickly and accurately as others I was about to burn the house three times this month bcz I forgot the food on the heater and an other time I forgot to switch off the oven after I get the food out please help me my symptoms look like ِADHD-PI

Hi Rasha, thanks for asking.
I can understand your concerns.
I have gone through your symptoms. In my opinion you seem to have ADHD. But it is very uncommon for symptoms of ADHD to suddenly appear in adulthood. If such a patient comes to my office I would also like to rule out depression in her.
Another possibility is that you may be having ADHD from the beginning but due to your coping skills you would have adjusted to it better. Now because of the pressures of university or because of depression you have started manifesting the symptoms of ADHD.
You will benefit from medications as well as counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy.
I would suggest you meet a psychiatrist.
