I have had a colon resection in 2009 I have bowel movements now that a literally impossible to wipe clean without using a roll of paper. this is quite emparrasing and frustrating. I thot I was passing gas the other morning and after I got to work, had to go to poop and found a LARGE pile of pasty poop I my underware. had to thro them away and wear nothing... took the poop and couldnot get totally eiped clean. totally embarrassing and unconfigent, finished my 8 hr shift what is wron with me I am not paying for an answer
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of colon resection in 2009, a long time ago. Now the bowel movement related issue of having noticed the leakage in underwear and is difficult to clean easily. The cause can be: Mucus makes it so smooth that even a straining can cause the leakage. Lax anal sphincter can have similar issues. I would advise you the following: Send the sample of stool for tests. Per-rectal digital examination and proctoscopy to see if there is any local problem. Proper medication which may be an antibiotic, metronidazole and probiotics may help. Follow the guidelines given by your Surgeon.
