Hello doctor, I am 46 having BP 140/100 or 136/95, I am taking Olmax-25 as the doctor prescribed it replacing Prolomet XL-50. The BP continues for the last three years and it does not reduce beyond 135/90. How to control it ? Is a different medicine required to bring down the BP to 120/80.Kindly advice. I am a sportsman ( not playing now due to partial acl tear) , medium built, having wt of 60 kg, 5'5" and my triglyceride is 186.

HI THANKS FOR POSTING YOUR QUERY ON HEALTH CARE MAGIC. BLOOD PRESSURE UNDER 140/80 IS USUALLY ADVICED. YOU NEED NOT MAKE AN ATTEMPT TO LOWER IT TO EXACT VALUES. YOU ARE CURRENTLY ON RIGHT MEDICATIONS. LOWER YOUR TRIGLYCERIDE LEVELS TO UNDER 100 mg% WITH DIET MANAGEMENT. THIS WILL LOWER BP. CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR FOR FURTHER QUERIES.
