Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my mother in law fights with her husband at 12 or 1 a.m. early in the morning for just some silly and petty issues.she screams as if she is not a female rather a male. In anger, she throws things what ever comes in her hand, remotes, papers, pens, water bottles. She keeps doubting everybody in the house, even her daughter. She herself cant do anything but keeps on teaching others lessons on what they should do and should have done.
From the available description following are the possible diagnosis for your mother in law 1. Seizure disorder- 2. Mood disorder 3. Dissociative disorder 4. Paranoid reaction
Although to make a final diagnosis detailed history is required which includes 1. Her age 2. Duration of the problem 3 Sleep problem 4. Appetite problem 5. Ongoing stress 6. Family structure 7. Precipitanting and perpetuating factors 8. Duration of each episode
After going through all these details a final diagnosis can be made and proper treatment can be instituted. For control of her behavior meet a psychiatrist who will ask more details about the problem and will prescribe required medication.
Before you make an appointment try not to argue with her and try to unnderstand the reason behind her odd behavior.
