How To Cure Temporomandibular Joint Disorder?

I have had a case of TMJ for approx. two weeks. It seems to be subsiding but I still have difficulty opening my moth to eat. I have no pain otherwise and it is only on the right side. It appears to have happened as a result of unintended, repetitive jaw popping while sleeping. Is two weeks normal? Will it go away on its own?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

It is necessary for consulting with a dentist for a physical exam. Performing an X ray of TMJ may be needed. In the meantime, I would recommend avoiding chewing hard food and taking ibuprofen against inflammation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
