Hi I am undergoing chemo for breast cancer now. Day 5 post chemo I had diarrhea and went to toilet for at least 7 times. After 1 day, I noticed bleeding from my rectum which I think is from my piles. What can I do now as i still see few drops of fresh blood everytime i go to bathroom
Hello, I am sorry to hear of your troubles. Chemo can have many affects on the body and diarrhea can be one of them. Due to frequent movement, you are correct that it can aggravate hemorrhoids (piles). The best treatment in your situation would be gentle cleansing, avoiding harsh tissue papers and using wipes or even getting into shallow bath tub to clean. Consider over the counter hemorrhoid creams. If you see minor bleeding such as spotting on tissue paper it will likely improve with time and when diarrhea resolves. If you see profuse bleeding, you should seek medical attention .
