abnormal pulses with prosthetic valve in mitral position will USUALLY cause an arrhythmia called atrial fibrillation, in which pulse will be very high and will be very irregular, digoxine is a very good drug, u will have to waite for some time for it to act fully when you will get some relief. even after 2-3 days if pulse doesent stabilize u should consult your doctor, repeat an echocardiograph to see the function of your valve, the size of your left atrium and if there is any clot in the atrium.
