How To Cure Hyperammonemia Causing Extreme Lethargy?

I am a diabetic: but I also have a problem with hyperammonemia, causing extreme lethargy, confusision, mini-blackouts, etc. As soon as I go off of meat for a week or so, my ammonia level goes back to normal. should i consider a vegan diet on a regular basis, and what should it consist of?

Hi,

If a non-vegetarian diet is causing the problem then do shift to a vegetarian diet - that is vegan + dairy products. Vegetarian diet actually improves your overall function and reduces the side effects due to a non-veg diet. Dairy products are more or less wholesome meals and a good source of calcium- so do not omit them.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
