How To Cure Hypothyroidism And Reduce Weight?

hello doctor, i am darshna and i am suffering from hypothyroidism since last 15 yrs. I am 37 yr old and have a weight of 84 kg. I am taking 2 tablets of 100mg eltroxin and my current thyroid report has TSH 0.01 and FT4- 1.39 . Please recommend me, how can i cure it and reduce my weight

Hi Darsshna,
Infact your Thyroid function tests shows that you need to reduce your Eltroxin tablets. You may reduce it from 200 mcg to 150 mcg. Recheck the Free T4 and TSH after 6 weeks. Make sure that when you check Free T4, you take tablet only after giving blood for test. Please do an Anti TPO level also. If that is very high, you may require Thyroid medication for a long time, and possibly life long.

I dont feel the weight gain is pure;y due to Hypothyroidism alone. You dont tend to gain more than 3-4 kilos
