How To Cure Lump On Chest In Between Collar Bone And Breast?

My daughter has a lump on her chest in between her collar bone and breast its the size of a gum ball. I took her to Doctor and they gave her antibiotics. The Lump is still there its painful for her to sleep or sit up from being on her back. Prior to this she has had or thought to have had boil s in the same spot, one two years ago and one about 8 mo after that and now its back or so it seems. Here is the thing, The two times before the (boil) / Mass was drained and packed and the packing taken out. This time when they tried to drain it ( there was no head or puss on it) they lanced or cut it open and all that came out was blood the pain was horrific for her and the lump is still present they sent us to get a Ultra sound and said she needed surgery to remove the mass but they are not being clear as to what it is any help would be appreciated as i am freaking out over this thank you . my daughter is soon to be 18 and the boil or mass was treated first time in yer soft-more year of high school. Very concerned mom

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

I would keep a possibility that it was a sebaceous cyst in the first place which might have got infected and mistaken to be a boil. Sebaceous cyst usually recurs if it is not removed completely along with the cyst wall.

If i was your treating doctor i would have put her on oral antibiotics for a week or 10 days to help resolve the infection.

Once the infection resolves the cyst can be removed surgically along with the cyst wall else it can recur again and again.

take care
regards
