Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had daily nausea for a year, on Nexium and famotidine(plus, for 6 months, lansoprazole). Also have globus, but not daily. Have had 24 acid probe, esoph manometry, endoscopy. 24 hr test showed minimal reflux, and minimally associated with nausea (more with globus). Have been to 2 new docs - one wants to put me on Dexilant with the assumption that I have a hypersensitive esophagus; other says nausea is NOT related to GERD and is trying me on trans scop patch with d/c of all antiacids; which has not helped at all after 1 1/2 weeks. Advice?
It will be very hard to help you here especially that you have had already many tests and seen many doctors. But there is a one thing you should know: nausea is not caused only by gastrointestinal tract issues. This is a very nonspecific symptom which can also appear in case of brain or internal ear problems. Even depression or anxiety can cause chronic nausea. That is why I suggest you to consult neurologist and laryngologist and have it checked as well.
Hope this will help. Regards.
