hurt rib 2wks ago, still hrts a little with deep inhales and exhales but now what concerns me is that I feel lumps on that side kinda like a dent should I be concerned I read that it takes 2-6wks to recover, I also feel a clicking feeling and I got the bruise by falling hard on my ribs the left side
Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinion you should first get done chest x ray to rule out following things. 1. Rib fractures 2. Pulmonary contusions 3. Pneumothorax 4. Muscular injury. As blunt chest trauma commonly causes above things. And pain on inhinhalation and cracking sound can be heard in all. So we need to rule out all these by chest x ray. If x ray is normal than mostly you are having muscular injury. Better to follow these steps to get relief. 1. Avoid bad postures in sleep. 2. Avoid heavy weight lifting and strenuous exercise. 3. Start pain killer and muscle relaxant. 4. Apply warm water pad on affected site. 5. Wear chest belt to avoid mobilisation of affected area.
