How To Cure Recurring Lyme Disease With Back Pain And Swelling Joints Which Gets Worse In Winter? What Should Be Expected?

I had Lyme disease in 2012 and was given aggressive treatment. Felt pretty well until the winter cold and moisture hit
And I ached all over and stayed in pain. However after last winter in spring, summer, and fall I felt I was 90percent back to my old self. Now 2nd winter has his with the cold and rain two weeks ago and I am back to pain and swelling joints. My doctors can't give me answers about why this is happening. Will this cont for the rest of my life. I am 57 years old and was pretty healthy for a woman my age. Now I am really feeling like an old woman. What can I expect and am I experiencing permanent damage. I have had physical therapy off and on. Still not working.

Hi there.
As per your symptoms I think you are suffering from polyarthralgia due to Rheumatoid arthritis (RA)
Tests to be done: Complete blood count , complete Arthritis panel centric on RA factor levels, Anti CCP
Antibody test, serum calcium levels
Treatment : anti inflammatory and anti arthritic like Naproxyn 500, tab Saaz twice daily, tab pregalin SR BD,
A good calcium supplement.
Short tetm steroid like methylprednisolone or deflazacort will help but they are to be taken under strict supervision.
Get the tests evaluated by a rheumatologist.
