How To Cure Stabbing Pain And Bruise Under The Ribs After Falling Down?

Hi, I slipped on ice and fell over five steps on my front steps last nov. A x-ray showed no rib fractures but a hematoma under the lower two floating ribs. It started to feel better by mid December. Early Feb. I injured myself again and the swelling on my rib is back and I have a stabbing and pressure pain everyday. Especially if I do anything strendous. I do see a mild red and purple bruise at the area but nothing dramatic. My family dr prescribed pain meds for a month. Do u think there is more to this or just wait it out?
